Vintage signs and man cave decor go hand in hand. This is an extremely rare and highly sought after Wadham's Tempered Motor Oil Sign. This porcelain sign is from the early 1900's.  It is in excellent shape, showing almost no where. The sign features Wadham's signature yellow oil cans and pump in front of a bright red circle.

This is automobilia, mantiques and man cave decor at its very best!

Automobilia at its Best

Wadham's Oil and Grease Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin is Automobilia at its very best. Wadham's was founded in early 20th century. In 1916 the company was taken over by Harger W. Dodge. Dodge revolutionized the gas and service station industry. He was the first oil tycoon to see value in brand identity. His stations were all red roofed Japanese inspired pagoda like structures built close to major streets.

In addition to his stations having a unique look, Dodge used underground tanks and pumps to dispense the gas. This set a standard in the industry that is still being followed today.

In 1930 Wadham's was sold to Vacuum Oil Company which was purchased by Standard Oil of New York (Socony). Socony later became Mobil.
