A Brief History Behind Structo Toys
A little more than 110 years ago Structo Manufacturing was founded in Freeport, Illinois. They originally went under the name Thompson Manufacturing. At one point they were the largest toy truck manufacturer in the world. Their product lineup included Erector Sets, hobby looms, barbecue grills, sand box toys and an assortment of toy trucks. During World War 2, they produced war time products for the military. In 1974 Structo product line was sold to Ertl in Dyersville, Iowa.
